Tasmanian Safety Leaders Program

An eight-week masterclass for business owners, leaders and managers. Twenty free places per intake, delivered three times a year.

An eight-week masterclass for business owners, leaders and managers who want to build genuine safety leadership capability. Twenty free places per intake, delivered three times a year.

Unlike most safety leadership programs, which are aimed at career safety professionals in large companies, our program is designed specifically for people who own or work in small and medium businesses, with limited time and budgets and hands-on safety management responsibilities.

The program is suited to business owners and directors who need to set up safety functions and lead with confidence; operations and project managers wanting to put structure behind WHS systems; WHS and HR people looking to lift their skills; health and safety representatives stepping into formal WHS roles; and frontline supervisors and workers who want to champion safety on the ground.

The program uses a masterclass format applying the 70:20:10 learning concept: 70% experiential learning, 20% social interaction, and 10% formal concepts. It is delivered three times a year in February-March, July-August, and October-November. Applications are assessed by the One Safe Tasmania Community Advisory Board, with each intake offering 20 free places. Fee-based places are also available for larger organisations.
